Peppermint flowers from June to August and provides moderate nectar with moderate pollen value. It is a hybrid of water mint and spearmint, is propagated by runners and needs moist, nutrient-rich soil. Its flower spikes are steadily visited over several weeks. In the garden near the apiary it is a reliable supplementary summer forage. British measurements give around 32 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
