Persian speedwell flowers almost all year round, on mild winter days even in January. It comes from the Near East and is ubiquitous in our region in fields, gardens and tree pits. Its sky-blue flowers last only one day, but new ones keep coming. An important small forage in early spring. British measurements give around 32 micrograms of sugar per flower per day, around 2,567 pollen grains per flower and a nectar yield of around 43 kilograms of sugar per hectare per year.
