Eared willow
Salix aurita
- Blütezeit
- April–May
- Nektar
- mäßig
- Pollen
- gut
The eared willow flowers in April and May on acid, damp soils, at bog margins and in open woods. It owes its name to the ear-shaped stipules at the leaf bases. It stays low and provides pollen as well as some nectar. Because it flowers later than goat willow and grey willow, it fills a gap before fruit trees and dandelion begin.
