The nettle-leaved bellflower flowers from June to August on woodland edges, in hedges and in open deciduous woods. Its leaves resemble stinging nettles; the blue-violet bells are large and held upright to sideways. The pollen is presented on the style, so honeybees can easily brush it off. A good woodland-edge forage in high summer.
