The Almond Willow flowers in April and May on riverbanks and in willow scrub. It has narrow, almond-shaped leaves and scaly, flaking bark. The catkins appear together with the leaves and are well worked. It is one of the later willows and therefore still yields when goat willow and violet willow have long finished flowering.
