Marjoram flowers from July to September with whitish flowers in knotty spikes. Because of its use in sausage, it is also called sausage herb in German. It comes from the eastern Mediterranean and is grown here as an annual. If it is allowed to flower fully instead of being harvested continuously, it is a good summer flow and is taken up by honeybees and wild bees alike.
