Wild leek flowers from June to September and provides good nectar with moderate pollen value. It is a bulbous plant from the Mediterranean region and the ancestral form of leek and elephant garlic. Its spherical inflorescences consist of many small individual flowers and yield for weeks. If leeks are allowed to flower in the garden, they are very heavily visited. British measurements give around 141 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
