The Round-headed Leek flowers in June and July with dense, egg-shaped flower heads that change from green to purplish red. It grows on dry grassland and rocky outcrops and is found in many gravel beds. The many small individual flowers open one after another and are besieged for weeks by honeybees and bumblebees.
