Ragged Robin flowers from May to July in wet and litter meadows with pink flowers whose petals are slashed into four narrow lobes. It has become rare as a result of drainage. The nectar sits deep in the tube, so butterflies, moths and long-tongued bumblebees collect it first and honeybees follow on.
