The Clustered Bellflower flowers from June to August with tightly packed, dark violet clusters of flowers at the tip of the stem. It grows on poor limestone grassland, on embankments and in perennial beds. Because many flowers sit close together, the bee can walk from flower to flower without a long flight and collects correspondingly quickly.
