Love-in-a-mist flowers from June to August with pale blue flowers set in a ring of finely divided bracts. It is annual, self-seeds in cottage gardens and then forms striking balloon-like fruits. The flowers are openly structured and provide nectar and pollen; bumblebees and honeybees can reach them equally well.
