The Common Lime is a hybrid of large-leaved lime and small-leaved lime and flowers between the two, usually at the end of June. It is the classic tree for avenues and village squares and grows very large and old. It provides nectar abundantly, and where large-leaved and small-leaved lime grow together with it, the lime flow extends over several weeks.
