Hare's-foot Clover flowers from June to September on sandy soils, in gravel pits and on railway embankments. Its flower heads are soft and grey-haired and look like small hare's feet. It is annual and copes with extreme drought. On poor sandy sites it is one of the few forage plants of late summer.
