The Snapdragon flowers from June to September with the well-known throated flowers in many colours. It comes from the Mediterranean and is planted in beds and window boxes. The flower is closed and has to be pushed open, which only strong bumblebees can manage. Honeybees use the flowers after bumblebees have opened them. British measurements give around 1.1 milligrams of sugar per flower per day.
