The Dense-flowered Mullein flowers from June to August with dense, yellow flower spikes that grow over two metres tall. It is biennial and grows on rubble, embankments and woodland paths. The flowers open early in the morning and last only one day. It provides a great deal of pollen, which the bees harvest in the early morning.
