Yellow Archangel flowers from April to June with yellow lipped flowers in shady deciduous woodland and along the edges of shrubberies. It forms extensive carpets by means of long runners and is also planted as ground cover. The nectar sits deep; bumblebees reach it well, and honeybees collect it where the flowers are short enough. A woodland forage plant of spring. British measurements give around 440 micrograms of sugar per flower per day, around 30,887 pollen grains per flower and a nectar yield of around 156 kilograms of sugar per hectare per year.
