Bee Balm flowers from July to September with striking, tousled whorls of flowers in red or pink. It comes from North America and needs a moist soil in the bed that does not dry out. The nectar sits in long tubes; bumblebees reach it easily, while honeybees mainly use the flowers that have been opened and bitten into. British measurements give around 524 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
