Hawkweed oxtongue flowers from July to September with yellow flower heads on embankments, along roadsides, and on limestone gravel. The whole plant is covered with hooked bristles and feels rough. It flowers late and for a long time and provides a lot of pollen, especially in August, when the colonies are raising their winter bees.
