Common Thyme flowers from June to September and provides good nectar with a moderate pollen value. It is a low subshrub of poor meadows, sunny embankments and rocky sites. Full sun and a dry, free-draining soil are important to it. On large areas of poor grassland it makes an aromatic and long-lasting summer flow.
