The Common Hemp-nettle flowers from July to September on arable land, clearings and woodland paths. Its stem is swollen below the nodes and roughly hairy. The pink lipped flowers with the yellow patch are used mainly by bumblebees, but also by honeybees. On fresh clear-cuts it occurs in masses.
