The Common Evening Primrose flowers from June to October and provides a moderate amount of nectar with a moderate pollen value. It is biennial, comes from North America and grows on railway embankments, gravel areas and fallows. Its flowers open in the evening and are still open the next morning, so bees find something early on. The pollen hangs in long threads and is easy to recognise on the pollen loads.
