Poison Hemlock flowers from June to August on roadsides, stream banks and rubble sites. The stem bears reddish-brown spots, the plant smells of mouse urine and is highly poisonous; it was the poison of Socrates. The white umbels are nevertheless visited by bees and flies. According to current knowledge, this is of no significance for honey.
