The Common Bean flowers from June to August with white or violet pea flowers. It is predominantly self-pollinating, so the flower is hardly needed for pollination. More important are the small nectar glands on the leaf stalks, which attract bees and ants. For the colony it remains a small minor flow in the vegetable garden.
