Woolly Burdock flowers from July to September and provides a moderate amount of nectar with a moderate pollen value. It is biennial, grows up to two metres tall and grows on roadsides, rubble sites and riverbanks. Its flower heads are covered in a felty, cobweb-like down, which is how it can be recognised. In the dearth period of high summer it is a welcome minor flow.
