Wild liquorice flowers in June and July with yellowish-white flower racemes at woodland edges, on embankments and in open scrub. It lies on the ground with long, strong shoots and bears pinnate leaves. Its flowers are opened mainly by bumblebees, and honeybees use them afterwards. A woodland-edge plant of early summer.
