Bigroot cranesbill flowers from May to July with pink flowers above aromatic foliage. It comes from south-eastern Europe and is planted as ground cover under trees because it holds out even in dry shade. Where it grows over large areas, it produces a useful flow despite the modest individual flower. British measurements give around 2.4 milligrams of sugar per flower per day.
