Perennial honesty flowers in May and June with pale violet flowers that are strongly fragrant in the evening, in shady ravine forests and on damp slopes. Unlike its annual relative it persists for many years. Its seed pods are oblong and pointed. In the woods it is a good flow of late spring. British measurements give around 97 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
