Armenian grape hyacinth flowers from March to May with dense, deep blue flower clusters and is the most commonly planted species of its genus. It naturalises readily and after a few years forms whole carpets. The small urn-shaped flowers are narrow, but are reliably visited by honeybees. British measurements give around 163 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
