White horehound flowers from June to August with whorls of white flowers along the stems and bears grey-felted, wrinkled leaves. It grows on rubble, along paths and in cottage gardens and was long an important medicinal plant against coughs. It is drought-tolerant and provides nectar in hot summers when other plants have long since given up.
