Free for up to five colonies
Up to five colonies you can use iBeekeeper free of charge, permanently and without a time limit. There is no trial period that expires and no credit card is required. If your apiary grows later, you can move to a paid plan.
The hive card replaces the notebook
Every colony has its own hive card. You record each inspection with the date and your observations, so the history of a colony stays in one place. Three weeks later you can see what you did last time before you open the hive.
Treatments you can look up again
For a varroa treatment you enter the date, the product, the quantity, the concentration, the treated colonies, the person who applied it and your notes. In autumn you can see at a glance which colony was treated, when and with what.
Offline at the apiary
The apps work without a connection, which matters when your colonies stand outside mobile coverage. You enter everything on the spot and the data syncs as soon as you are online again. Your data is stored on servers in Germany.

What happens if I have more than five colonies?
Above five colonies you need a paid plan; the current rates are shown on the pricing page. Up to five colonies the app stays free.
I am starting out with two colonies. Is the app suitable for that?
Yes. Two or three colonies fit within the free range, and you can record your inspections in the same way as a larger beekeeper. If you add colonies over the years, nothing has to be transferred from one system to another.
Do I need internet at the apiary?
No. You can enter inspections and treatments offline, and the app transfers them once your device has a connection again.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in Germany. Your entries are tied to your account and are available on your devices after syncing.
Is the free version really free?
Yes. Up to five colonies it costs nothing, with no time limit and no credit card. It is not a trial version that stops working after a few weeks.
